The NHS says "CBT is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a vicious cycle."
CBT aims to help you deal with overwhelming problems more positively by breaking them down into smaller parts.
You're shown how to change these negative patterns to improve the way you feel.
It looks for practical ways to improve your state of mind on a daily basis.
In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide together the most appropriate ways to help you make progress.
With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings for the better.
